# ChabuLab POC: working experiments you can try

> Proofs of concept from ChabuLab: small, working demos that test one idea each. Try QR Restaurant, table ordering by QR code with no server and no database.

Each proof of concept tests one idea with a demo you can open and use. They are free, have no ads, and may change or be reset as the idea is explored.

## Try now

### [QR Restaurant](https://poc.chabulab.com/qr-restaurant/)

The question: *Can table ordering by QR code work with no server and no database?*

Guests scan the code on their table and order from their phone. The order goes straight to the counter's browser over WebRTC, and the counter keeps the menu, tables and orders in its own browser storage. The kitchen board and each guest's order status update live.

What it shows:
- No server or database of its own
- Phone to counter directly, over the venue's Wi-Fi
- Live order status, call staff, ask for the bill

Limits for now:
- The counter tab must stay open to take orders
- First connection needs the Internet for the handshake

## How the lab works

1. One idea per POC, with a demo that really works rather than a mock-up.
2. Free and without ads. Nothing here is a product yet.
3. Data you enter stays in your own browser unless the POC says otherwise. A POC may be reset when it changes.
